How fast are you when you read? I know I’m not the fastest reader out there but I’m not the slowest reader either. I’m sure I’m about average when it comes to the pace. However, I normally like to take my time when reading. I do that on purpose so that I can enjoy the book I am reading, especially if the book is really good. Do you ever do that….read slower than you normally do so that you can enjoy the story? Or do you read fast no matter what?
When I was young, I was a very quick reader. I was trained in speed reading from a young age, so it didn’t surprise many people that I’d finish a 400 page book in only a few hours. I’ve gotten a lot slower since e-books and age though… I can’t focus on a book well if I don’t feel the paper.

I never learned to speed read. But I don’t think I would want to anyway because I would want to enjoy the story, not blow through it at 100 miles an hour.

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m not the fastest reader but I know I am not amongst the slowest readers either. I’ve never been diagnosed with a learning disability but I’m pretty sure I’m dyslexic, or something along those lines. It really depends on the story though. If it fails to hold my interest, I tend to read the story at a slower rate. It will probably take me a minute or two to read one page if I’m not into the story. lol

I just don’t have the attention for something that doesn’t seem interesting to me. I can read because I’ve always loved reading. But if the story isn’t interesting, then I’ll put the book down and never pick it back up.
