Order online….

I purchased a book online the other day and it showed up on my door step today in perfect condition. I was browsing Books-a-Million’s website and I noticed they were having a 50% off sale on select titles and I happen to come across the book listed below. I thought the book looked interested so I purchased it. Now it looks like I’ll have something interesting to read for Halloween.

Synopsis: From Danielle Vega, YA’s answer to Stephen King, comes a new paranormal novel about dark family secrets, deep-seated vengeance, and the horrifying truth that evil often lurks in the unlikeliest of places.

Hendricks Becker-O’Malley is new in town, and she’s bringing baggage with her. With a dark and wild past, Hendricks doesn’t think the small town her parents moved her to has much to offer her in terms of excitement. She plans on laying low, but when she’s suddenly welcomed into the popular crowd at school, things don’t go as expected.

Hendricks learns from her new friends that the fixer-upper her parents are so excited about is notorious in town. Local legend says it’s haunted. Hendricks doesn’t believe it. Until she’s forced to. Blood-curdling screams erupt from the basement, her little brother wakes up covered in scratches, and something, or someone pushes her dad down the stairs. With help from the mysterious boy next door, Hendricks makes it her mission to take down the ghosts . . . if they don’t take her first.

  1. I’m a very frugal person, so I’m glad to see that you got a deal. I always love purchasing things that are on sale, especially when it’s 50% off or buy one get one free. I haven’t looked at Books a Million’s website in some time, but it definitely sounds like I need to check it out soon. I have a weakness for buying things on sale.

As far as this book goes, it sounds very interesting. I can kind of relate to it. When I was 12-13 years old, my parents purchased a new house, and we moved in. This house was a foreclosure that the bank owned, so my parents ended up buying the home well under value. During the process of putting in the offer, my parents started hearing rumors about the house being haunted, referring to one room in particular. That room ended up being my bedroom.

    1. I don’t know if I want to read this book as soon as I’m done with the current book I’m reading or if I want to read this book when I’m a little closer to Halloween. I haven’t decided yet. Every time I finish reading a book, I always agonize over which book I’m going to read next. I’ve never lived in a house that was haunted or even reported to be haunted. I don’t know what I would do if I lived in a haunted house.
