Did you see the premiere?

So, who here watched the premiere of “NOS4A2” (yes, I know I’m a little late on this)? Are you excited to see the next episode? What are your expectations for the first season? How many of you have read the book that this show is based on?

I know there are some little differences, so far, between the show and the book. However, I don’t think it’s enough to deter me from watching the show. Yeah, in the book, Vic McQueen was a little younger and she rode an actual bicycle instead of a motor cycle (that seems to be the big difference so far at this point). But I’m still interested in seeing how this show plays out. What do you think so far?

Author Spotlight (Chapter 2)

Joseph Delaney is a British author of typically fantasy novels. He retired from teaching pretty quickly into his career as an author. The first books he wrote under his real name was the Last Apprentice series as they are known in the U.S. (it’s known as the Wardstone Chronicles in the U.K.). That story continues in the Starblade Chronicles, however, you don’t necessarily have to read the Last Apprentice series to understand what is going on in the Starblade Chronicles. I’ve already read all of those books so far. His Aberrations series, I’ve got the first one on my Kindle Fire but I haven’t started reading it yet. His Arena 13 trilogy…I haven’t been able to find them in my local bookstore yet. I’ll probably have to either order them or see if I get get them on my Kindle.

The Haunting of Hill House

The Haunting of Hill House is a book from the horror genre written by author Shirley Jackson, which I read the year before last. Well, they recently made a tv show based on the 1959 novel and I finally got to sit down to watch the show last week (I know I’m a little late getting around to posting this and I’m sorry). I enjoyed the show, however, I want to mention that there aren’t a lot of similarities between the book and the show. The only similarity is they named the show the same as the book. The story is completely different and the characters are completely different (even if some of the characters in the tv show share a name with some of the characters from the book). Despite that, I thought the show did a good job telling a really scary story and I was entertained the whole time I watched it. It’ll be something that you’ll just have to watch for yourself.
