What do you think are the best movies to watch if you are interested in literature? Which one’s would you suggest to someone else?
“Harry Potter” series by J. K. Rowling = The movies are based on the magical books of the same name. My hubby watched all the movies with me even though he’d never read any of the books.
“Twilight” series by Stephanie Meyer = These movies are based on the romance novels of the same name. I went to see the movies with a sister-in-law and her daughter when they were coming out.
“True Grit” by Charles Portis = There were two movies based on this book. I’ve seen both movies and I enjoyed both equally.
“The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum = I’ve watched the movie before as a kid but I finally read the book a couple of years ago. I don’t normally do that. I normally read the book first before I watch the movie but I didn’t know the Wizard of Oz when I watched it for the first time.
I really enjoyed the HP books and films. I actually like the book ‘The Wizard of Oz’ WAY better than the movie, which is one of my mom’s favorites. The movie is too cheesy for me and I hate the ‘it’s all a dream’ fake-out.

I really liked the HP books and movies as well. I feel like these movies actually stayed in line with the books. Most often the movie doesn’t even remotely look like the book at all.

I actually only read the first 4 books in the HP series. I’ve been meaning to finish the series for forever but I have about a million books on my to-read list, I keep getting distracted. 😛

I have several series that I’ve started but haven’t read. This is because I have so much on my TBR list.

I have watched some of these movies but never read any of these books. If you like reading dystopian novels, you must read A Clockwork Orange and watch the movie based on this novel by Anthony Burgess. The movie was directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll have to go read the book and then watch the movie.
