How much of your time do you actually get to spend reading?
Well, if I have to go to work that day, that greatly affects how much reading I can accomplish. I go to work early in the morning and I’m usually off by 3 in the afternoon. Normally, I’ll come home and rest for a second because I’ve been on my feet all day. But then I’ll begin trying to get dinner ready for my hubby for when he comes home (if he isn’t home already). Once we’ve eaten dinner, I’ll wash the dishes if I haven’t done so already and I’ll make my lunch for work tomorrow (assuming I have to work again tomorrow. I’ll go clean out the cat’s litter box for the day and then take a shower.
Once, I’m done with that then I can finally start relaxing for the rest of the evening and get some reading done. Normally, I’ll have at least an hour of time to do some reading before I’ll actually go to bed. Sometimes, it might actually be more like an hour and a half to 2 hours of reading time but that depends on how quickly I get things done.
Now, if I don’t have to go to work that day then this greatly changes my answer. Especially if I don’t have to run any errands on my day off or anything like that. In this case, I can relax all day long and read at my leisure……at least until it’s time for me to make dinner then I’ll start the same process all over again.
These days most of my reading activities are related to reading things that help me in my work. For instance, if I am writing on a certain topic, I will be reading on that topic extensively. I am more focused on making money, therefore, I do not have a lot of time to do serious reading.

I don’t read anywhere near as much as I should, or would like to, or used to. Life got in the way! I used to be an avid reader and finish a book a week. I’d love to get back into it. There’s something quite cathartic about going along with and sharing the experiences of a character in a good book. There’s nothing quite like it.
Your blog has given me the impetus to pick up again and have some ‘me time’. Well needed! I’ll have a look through at your recommendations.
