A local bookstore has a buy back program. They’ll buy back your used books and give you money in exchange for them. So, I sold them some of the books that I’ve already read this year and I ended up purchasing 2 new books yesterday to add to my collection. I look forward to reading both of these as soon as I get the chance.

It’s awesome that you have a local bookstore that buys back books like that! It allows you to treat the store more like a library, borrowing the book until you’re finished reading it. My local book store buys back books, CDs, DVDs, etc, but it’s comparable to the type of trade in value you’d get at GameStop. I could pay $20 for a brand new book, but they’d only give me like $1 in store credit if I turned the book in. At that point, I’d rather just keep it.

Yeah, they give you less for the book than what you paid for it. However, I’m not getting any money for it with it sitting on my shelves taking up room either. If I know I’m going to re-read the book then I’ll keep it. On another note, I’ve bought books from the bargain section so I didn’t pay that much for them to begin with.
