What do I think the world would look like if literature didn’t exist? What would I do if libraries and book stores didn’t exist? What would I do if reading wasn’t part of my every day life?
I honestly don’t know what I’d do. I mean, I have other hobbies besides reading but they don’t take up as much of my time as reading does. Reading is something I’ve enjoyed my whole life. Even before I learned to read in school, I enjoyed listening to others read to me.
Books are something you can take with you, whether you are waiting in line somewhere or going away on vacation. If I’m traveling on vacation, I’ll take my Kindle Fire with me. That way I’ll have plenty of books to choose from if I find myself with any down time on my vacation and it doesn’t take up a lot of space in my carry on bag.
Without reading, I also wouldn’t be sure how to approach someone if I wanted to talk to them. If I see someone with a book in their hands or if they are wearing a t-shirt with a favorite character on it, it’s a lot easier for me to pick that person out of a crowd and start up a conversation with them.
The world would be a completely different place if literature never existed. So many stories would have never seen the light of day, and I think many people would struggle to read even the most simplistic words.

I would have to agree with you. I also wonder what some of these authors would be doing if they were writing the literature they are commonly known for….authors like J. K. Rowling and Stephen King and others?
