If you could recommend a book to your younger self, which book would you recommend and why?
I would have started reading the Harry Potter series from the very beginning.. I didn’t get into the series until after the first five novels were already released because I originally thought they’d be too childish for me to read since they were geared towards children.
The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer already had the first 3 books out before I started reading them. I only remember ordering the last book in the series. The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini was already started and the first two books were already out. That series was originally suppose to be a trilogy but it ended up being 4 books instead which I’m glad we got that extra book. There would have been too much loose ends to tie up if there was only going to be a third book.
If you could “slip” into a book for a day, which one would it be? Why?
I think I would want to slip into one of the Harry Potter books for a day. I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series and I’ve always wanted to know what it’s like to spend a day at Hogwarts. The only problem is I would want to spend more than a day at Hogwarts. I think there’s too much to explore to only have one day and I would want to get the whole Hogwarts experience.
I also wouldn’t mind being a dragon rider in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. There’s a lot of stuff that they can do, magic wise, that we can’t do normally (or they can do it a lot easier or a lot faster). Plus, they are immortal and who wouldn’t want to be bonded with a dragon in the first place. You definitely wouldn’t have to worry about being bullied ever again.
It was recently announced on Twitter that Christopher Paolini is making a new book and it will be released on 09.15.2020 (nearly a year away, ugh!). This new book, titled “To Sleep in a Sea of Stars”, sounds very much like a science fiction novel to me. This book is available for pre-order already at several major retailers including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million and more. I think I’m going to be giving this book a read when it comes out. What about you?
Synopsis: You flew on the wings of a dragon, now soar into a sea of stars. . . .
To Sleep in a Sea of Stars is a story of enormous intergalactic weight and consequence, but also of deeply personal human strength, compassion, and awe.
During a routine survey mission on an uncolonized planet, xenobiologist Kira Navárez finds an alien relic that thrusts her into the wonders and nightmares of first contact. Epic space battles for the fate of humanity take her to the farthest reaches of the galaxy and, in the process, transform not only her—but the entire course of history.
