If you could recommend a book to your younger self, which book would you recommend and why?
I would have started reading the Harry Potter series from the very beginning.. I didn’t get into the series until after the first five novels were already released because I originally thought they’d be too childish for me to read since they were geared towards children.
The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer already had the first 3 books out before I started reading them. I only remember ordering the last book in the series. The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini was already started and the first two books were already out. That series was originally suppose to be a trilogy but it ended up being 4 books instead which I’m glad we got that extra book. There would have been too much loose ends to tie up if there was only going to be a third book.
As a kid I was a prolific reader so I’m not sure I missed out on anything for my age group until I got into high school. I think for that age I would recommend more “boy” type books because I avoided some of the really good classics thinking they were meant for boys only, except they weren’t. Lord of the Flies is one I’d highly recommend. A friend of mine tried to encourage me to read it but I held back.

I have a copy of Lord of the Flies somewhere on my bookshelves. I’m going to have to make sure and read it now that you suggested it. Thanks for the share, Lammchen2020!

I’d recommend a book of Robert Greene. He explained in his book of laws where you get to learn various types of the scenario and the laws in it. A lot of contnet in his book tells you how to live in real life. I’d definnitely give this book to my younger self. I lost a lot in life because of my inability to deal with people. So that book is useful for kids who are not even graduated and want to learn about the real life world.

Thank you. That book sounds interesting. It’s nice to have a book that helps you with something in your life. It stinks when you find it after the fact instead of finding it when you need it the most.
