Recent purchase for birthday!

I was able to make a purchase at the bookstore for my birthday over the weekend. I feel happy with what I picked up. I could have spent more time at the book store than what I did but my hubby was waiting for me. My hubby got me other stuff for my birthday but this is the literature I got.

The Secret of White Stone Gate by Julia Nobel

Latest trip…

Today, I not only had a day off from work but I was free to go do what I wanted to do. It’s my first free day since Christmas. I finally have a day where I can go to the local bookstore in my town and spend the gift cards that I got for Christmas. I had fun shopping at my local bookstore, as always. I was there from shortly after 10 am til about 1:30 in the afternoon but I could have spent a lot longer there if I’m being honest. The only reason I didn’t stay any longer is I ran out of money on my gift cards.

Me running to the bookstore to spend my gift cards

Anyway, here is a list of all the books I got at the bookstore on this trip…

The Monster of Elendhaven by Jennifer Giesbrecht

Merry Christmas!

Well folks, it’s Christmas Eve. For those of you who celebrate the holiday, you’re probably spending time with family today and tomorrow. I hope you enjoy yourself and have a wonderful Christmas.

I stopped by my local bookstore yesterday that I normally like to shop at and it was a mad house. There was a line at the register that looked like it was 3 miles long and the store was packed full of people besides the people standing in line. This reminds me why I do my Christmas shopping early and avoid doing any Christmas shopping at the last minute. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love shopping at this particular book store. I can browse in there for hours. But when I usually go there, they normally aren’t so packed full of people. I think that if I get any gift cards to the book store that I’m either going to a) buy online from their website and just have it shipped to my house or b) wait until I get my vacation in January to spend them in the store (the kids should be back in school by then).

How about you? Do you do any shopping online or do you shop in the actual store? Do you do a little of both? What about shopping in a small business….do you do any of that for the holidays?

One more round at the bookstore!

I was able to make one more purchase today at my local bookstore. This may be the last time I am able to make a book purchase for a while. I kind of went book crazy while I was off from work and I’m going to have to save my money for a while before I can buy more books again. The good news is I’ll have plenty of books to read for a while.

Anyway, you can see below what I was able to purchase with the money I had left. I think I’ve made out like a bandit but I’m pretty happy with what I’ve got.

“The Collector” by K. R. Alexander
“The Fear Zone” by K. R. Alexander
“Remember Me” by Chelsea Bobulski
“The Ghost Road” by Charis Cotter
“The Girl in the Locked Room” by Mary Downing Hahn
“After the Fire” by Will Hill
“The Complete Horowitz Horror” by Anthony Horowitz
“Ghost and Bone” by Andrew Prentice
“The War in the Dark” by Nick Setchfield
“The Spider Dance” by Nick Setchfield
“The Shapeshifters” by Stefan Spjut

Another purchase!

I’ve made another purchase today. Came across a used book store that advertised books at half the price. The books I got looked like they were new or at least in really good condition on top of sounding really interesting. I was really happy with my purchase. I just wish I could have spent more time shopping because I’m sure I would have found more stuff to read.

Fellside by M. R. Carey
Witchlanders by Lena Coakley
The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton (50th Anniversary Edition)
The Invited by Jennifer McMahon
The Mile End Murder by Sinclair McKay
The Cutting Room: Dark Reflections of the Silver Screen by Ellen Datlow
